RCS Messaging Now Available on Android Devices

Android users now have features similar to iMessage on iOS

Google Messages adds most of the features that iOS users have had in iMessage to Android phones.

If you use an Android phone like I do, there's exciting news this week: Google has officially rolled out RCS messaging. It replaces SMS/MMS messaging with something (almost) feature parity with iMessage on iOS devices. And while all US carriers reportedly support it now, you'll have to download the apps to make it available:

1. Download Carrier Services on Google Play on your phone.
   
   
2. Download Google Messages on Google Play on your phone.
   
   
3. Restart your phone.
   
   
4. Launch Google Messages and make it your default messaging app. (It will ask you to do so when you open it.)
